How Far Along: 28 weeks (THIRD TRIMESTER.. only 84 days left!!)
Size of the Baby: Rutabaga/Chinese cabbage - no idea how big either of those are..
What doin’: getting ready for work
Cravings: carbs.. today for lunch I had fried rice, mac and cheese and potatoes..?
Sleep: Sleeping on my back. I haven’t had any more leg cramps, but I’ve had to get up to pee a few times this week. I’m not bragging, but my sleeping really hasn’t changed much since I got pregnant.
Gender: a sweet baby boy! :D
Weight Gain: 16 lbs (up 2 since my last appointment two weeks ago)
Names: We still have 10 names picked out - we’ll narrow it down to our top 5 this month. Still top secret!
Symptoms: Cankles… aka edema, aka swollen ankles. They are so sexy, let me tell you. I don’t have them all the time, just mainly at night when I get home. And luckily I wear mostly boots in the wintertime so no one, except for hubby, get to really enjoy them. :) I am growing too, I feel bigger than last week, and his movements are not just jabs anymore, they are rolls, and whole body movements. It feels crazy and sometimes when I’m at my desk at work, the feeling makes me smile to myself :)
Pondering: I get overwhelmed sometimes thinking about how blessed we are to be able to go through all of this. I really LOVE being pregnant - and I try not to take any day for granted. I have had such a great pregnancy so far, and I’m so thankful. Every time I go to my OB appointments, pass a blood test, visit the dentist, anything - and hear that everything looks good, that I’m measuring EXACTLY on schedule, that it all looks healthy, no problems - I am so thankful. I even had an eye appointment last Saturday and the doctor said that my eye sight improved since last time. She said sometimes that happens in pregnancy. The baby actually gives me better eye sight… AWESOME!
I know I keep saying how thankful I am in every post, and you’re probably all sick of hearing it from me, but I can’t explain it any other way. I am SO THANKFUL for the healthy baby boy inside of me. I haven’t even met him, and I’m already so in love with him. He already makes me smile so big just THINKING about him and feeling him squirm around. I can’t imagine what it will be like when I get to hold him, and get to see his smile and hear his giggles and hear him call my “mommy”.
I think a lot about parenting, and how hard it will be to raise a well mannered, respectful, young man. I can’t wait to see his personality and character develop after he’s born. I have so many hopes for him and I can’t wait to see the person he will become.
Favorite Moment This Week: Setting up the furniture! It arrived! And it’s in the nursery - walking by the no-longer-empty room makes it all feel so real. It’s slowly coming together :) Oh! Also found a cute blouse to wear for the shower (in two weeks!)
